Akasel Grinding Consumables (Rigid Grinding Disc) Aka-Allegran/Largan Series

Aka-Allegran and Aka-Largan are rigid fine grinding/polishing discs. They provide a unique system for material removal. Built-in abrasive is released when diamond suspension or spray is added during preparation. This unique abrasive system results in high material removal, perfect planeness and a very long lifetime. Upon delivery the discs are ready to use and need practically no maintenance.

Aka-Largan

Aka-Largan provides perfect planeness and edge retention for materials softer than 150 HV (it can be used for materials with a hardness between 50-400 HV). It should be used with diamond suspension 15 – 3 µm. Aka-Largan is the optimal choice for fine grinding of soft and very soft materials.

Aka-Allegran

Aka-Allegran is available in four different versions for the preparation of materials with a hardness higher than 150 HV.

Aka-Allegran 9, provides perfect planeness and edge retention. It is the hardest disc in the range and recommended for fine grinding materials harder than 450 HV. It replaces grinding papers P320-P1200. This grinding disc should be used with diamond suspension 15 – 3 µm.

Aka-Allegran 6, is recommended when an optimal balance between material removal and fine surface finish is required. It is the most universal disc in the range. It provides fast fine grinding of most materials with a hardness of above 150 HV with 9 – 3 µm diamonds. It will replace the traditional grinding steps from P320 – P1200 with one single step.

Aka-Allegran 3, provides very short preparation times, perfect planeness and retains soft phases (e.g. soft inclusions in steel). It is a medium hard disc and recommended for fine grinding materials harder than 150 HV. It replaces grinding papers P320-P1200. Aka-Allegran 3 should be used with diamond suspension 9 – 3 µm.

Aka-Allegran 1, provides outstanding flatness. It is the softest disc in the range and recommended for materials harder than 150 HV. Aka-Allegran 1 should be used with diamond suspension 1 – 0.1 µm. This disc can also be used for final polishing of very hard materials and coatings.
